For most of us, our Shelties are truly members of the family. They live in the house with us, even sleep in the bed with us sometimes. And, when they reach the end of their lives, we mourn them as deeply as we loved them when they were still with us.

When a beloved Sheltie crosses the Rainbow Bridge, we have to face the question of how we want his or her earthly remains to be handled. Some of us choose to bury our pets' bodies in our yards or in a favorite spot in the woods or up in the mountains. Others, us included, choose to have them cremated so we can keep them with us even when we move to another city or state. Those of us who choose cremation want to ensure that our Sheltie's ashes are kept safe and secure in a receptacle that is respectful and attractive.
